Your holiday weekend driving forecast

Nothing but sun and clouds are expecting today and Friday, creating an ideal driving situation for the 1.3 million people expected to be on the roads in Michigan this weekend.

Highs today are around 44 to 49, with southwest winds 10 to 15 mph. It'll be mostly cloudy this evening, with lows around 40 to 44 and southwest winds 10 to 15 mph, according to forecasts.

A mostly sunny Friday will see highs around 55 to 59 and southwest winds 10 to 20 mph. Lows that night are expected around 43 to 47.

Holiday travelers likely will see some rain on Saturday and Sunday. Highs Saturday are around 56 to 60, with a 60 percent chance of rain during the day. Lows Saturday night will be around 39 to 43, and the chance of rain is 70 percent.

The final day of the weekend may bring some more rain, with highs around 43 to 47 and a 40 percent chance of rain. Temperatures are expected to dip that night down to 31 to 35, so rain and snow showers are predicted.
