Ypsilanti man recovering after accidentally shooting himself in the leg
An Ypsilanti man is recovering after accidentally shooting himself in the leg Saturday night at a gas station in Green Oak Township, the Livingston Daily reported.
The article said the 21-year-old man shot himself with a 40-caliber Glock while sitting in a pickup truck while his father pumped gas at the Mobil station on Lee Road near U-S 23 about 8:30 p.m.
Livingston County sheriff's deputies stopped the truck while the man's father was racing toward the hospital on Grand River Avenue, the report said. Emergency medical personnel were called and took the man to the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor, where he is listed in good condition, the article said.
The man's name was not released.

@ DJM the linked article states both the injured and his dad had CPL's. @ bellhelmet & Clara, with all due respect, the ONLY safety is the one between the ears. Unfortunately without that one those who rely on the other kind come to the same end. Cheers and be safe all.

There really is no 'safety' on a Glock. The safety is in the trigger, sort of like a baby trigger in the trigger. As you squeeze you disengage the safety.
