Ypsilanti police say they arrested a 19-year-old man with a loaded handgun this afternoon after a citizen called to report a man on the street with a gun in his hand.

Another person with that man was arrested on a warrant.

Police say they received a call at about 2:30 p.m. reporting a man walking in the area of Ballard and Congress with two other men and a gun in his hand.

Officers found the three men about two blocks away in the 300 block of Hawkins Street. They discovered the 19-year-old Ypsilanti man had a fully loaded Beretta .25-caliber handgun in his pants pocket, a police press release said.

The man was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon and was lodged at the Washtenaw County Jail.

A second man was arrested on an unspecified warrant, and the third man was released at the scene, police said.
