Ypsilanti police investigate robbery on West Michigan Avenue

A 23-year-old man reported a robbery Monday morning in the 200 block of West Michigan Avenue, an Ypsilanti police incident log said.

Three men approached, and one grabbed the victim's car keys and iPhone out of his hand, the log said.

The victim chased the men and lost sight of them on Pearl Street.

Anyone with information can call Ypsilanti police at 734-483-9510.

To be safe, I always do a 360 degree check of my surroundings before pulling my keys out (I only have house keys, but it still applies). I also keep my handheld electronics put away while I'm walking. It used to seem that being on the phone would deter thieves, but they seem to be attracted to it now.
