Pair charged with breaking into 4 Ann Arbor homes move forward with court cases
Two Ypsilanti residents accused of breaking into 4 homes in Ann Arbor in August were back in court on Wednesday, with one near a plea deal and the other continuing to fight the case.
Bonnie Metro and her attorney Erane Washington will be negotiating on a plea deal with the Washtenaw County Prosecutor’s Office until a court hearing on Nov. 30. Michael Johnson will return to court on Nov. 18 for an evidentiary hearing where he and his attorney Steve Tramontin will seek to suppress statements made by Johnson after his arrest.

Metro and Johnson are accused of breaking into 4 Ann Arbor homes between 9:45 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Aug. 1. The 4 homes were on the 300 block of East Jefferson Street, the 800 block of Greenwood Avenue, the 900 block of Oakland Avenue and the 1000 block of Oakland Avenue.
In 2 of the cases, people were home, according to Ann Arbor police. Johnson and Metro were arrested at 12:30 p.m. Aug. 1 on Oakland Avenue after officers responded to the area to investigate the break-ins.
Upon searching the car that Johnson and Metro were using, police said they found much of the stolen property.
Both Metro and Johnson remain in custody.

Inability to get effective medical care, related inability to get employment, and drug and alcohol abuse related to the first two were seriously involved on the part of the young woman. None of this caused her actions but I wonder how many of you would already be in prison if your life had been anything like hers has been? When the Politicos closed the mental asylums, where do you think the inmates went to? Hint. A huge problem of Jails and Prisons today is managing a huge mentally ill population. Department of Corrections response is simple. They turned over control of general population to ---the gangs. Since the Soviet Union collapsed, America has the second largest prison population on earth. Nations that approach our numbers have a lot of political prisoners. That should make you wonder why ours is so large. Ypu want them in prison (in America that means hell) for a long time at a cost of $35,000 a year. O.K. Lets give them 10 years. Then what? Lets give evey felon life. Who is going to pay for that? Why put thieves in the same place as murderers and gang members? Are you aware that over 75% of suburban white males committed at least one off the record felony when they were young? Here we go again! Plea bargaining for Bonnie! Does this ever end?? The prosecutors in Wash Cty need to be replaced. Probably another slap on the wrist for thugs in training.

Plea deal under attack & saying things after you are caught under attack. If the defendent had said "no, I didn't do it" would the attorney be trying to supress his words? Plea bargin generally means the defendent gives & the prosecutor gives (saving taxpayer money) and that is being attacked. Can't rat out your fellow criminal? It's not nice? Maybe they should be lockedup together? How much punishment would that be? More then would guess.

If I recall this was just one of a pair of lovely couples from OUT OF TOWN going on a robbing spree in Ann Arbor this summer.
