Ypsilanti schools superintendent receives positive evaluation from school board
Ypsilanti Public Schools Superintendent Dedrick Martin received a vote of confidence from the Board of Education with a positive evaluation approved at Monday night's meeting.
Out of a possible five points overall, Martin was given a 3.9 — nearly halfway between “met expectations” and “exceeded expectations.”
Martin received scores of 4.0 on “Planning, Staffing and Assessment,” “Instructional Leadership” and “Fiscal Management.” He was given a 3.9 on “Communication and Community Engagement” and a score of 3.7 on “Operations and Facilities Management.”
Martin began working as superintendent in September 2009. His contract calls for an annual salary of $140,000, plus benefits.
The board approved the evaluation by a vote of 6-1, with Trustee Andy Fanta dissenting.
