Ypsilanti Township woman robs her mother, deputies say

By Lee Higgins

A 22-year-old woman was arrested Wednesday after investigators say she threatened her mother with a knife while demanding money in an Ypsilanti Township home, Washtenaw County sheriff's deputies said.

The woman initially demanded money from her mother at the home in the 1200 block of Russell Street at about 10:15 p.m., the summary said.

Her mother gave her some money, but the woman wasn't satisfied it was enough, according to the summary.

Deputies say she went to the kitchen, grabbed a knife, and "threatened her mother for additional money," the summary said.

It's unclear whether the mother gave her more cash.

This poor mother, threatened by her own 22 year old daughter? Wake up Mom, she shouldn't be allowed in your home. The next time it could be a gun rather than a knife. Hope there wasn't any smaller children in your home at the time.

Maybe the mother owed her daughter money but initially refused to pay up.

Guess the criminal can count on being written out of the will. Wish the story indicated what the criminal wanted the money for...guessing NOT food or rent.
