Victory Academy in Ypsilanti Township won't have its contract renewed by the Bay Mills Indian Community, according to a report in the Ypsilanti Courier.

Woman shoved to the ground during attempted robbery

Ypsilanti police are working to identify a man they said shoved a woman to the ground during an attempted robbery Wednesday afternoon. The 44-year-old Ypsilanti Township woman was walking in an alley east of South Prospect Street between Davis Street and Maus Avenue at 4 p.m. when a man grabbed her from behind, police said.

Men's Basketball Plays Host to Ohio

The 2011-12 Eastern Michigan University men's basketball team will close out is six-game foray into Mid-American Conference East Division play with a Saturday, Feb. 11, 4:30 p.m. home game in the Convocation Center against the Ohio University Bobcats. The Eagles enter the game still holding on to the West Division lead at 5-5; 10-14 overall. EMU opened the 2012 MAC schedule with six straight games against the West Division followed by six in a row in cross-divisional play with the East Division.

EMU to Compete at Mid-American Match Play

The Eastern Michigan University men's golf team opens its Spring season,  Monday, Feb. 13, traveling to Dade City, Fla. to compete in the Mid-American Match Play. The tournament is hosted by Ball State University and will take place at Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club.
