Ypsilanti Township man accused of stabbing neighbor during argument

By Kyle Feldscher

A 44-year-old Ypsilanti Township man was arrested Sunday after he was accused of stabbing his neighbor in the abdomen following an argument in a local apartment complex.

Washtenaw County sheriff’s deputies arrested Mark Anthony Silvertooth during the investigation of the stabbing after they were called to investigate about 10 p.m. Sheriff’s department spokesman Derrick Jackson said Silvertooth and the 33-year-old victim were acquaintances and lived in the same apartment complex.

Jackson said that Silvertooth and the victim argued in the 5900 block of Bridge Road in the Lake Point Apartments. Silvertooth is accused of grabbing a knife when the argument escalated and stabbing the other man. The victim managed to get back to his apartment and call police.

Deputies found the victim slumped over the kitchen table in his apartment, Jackson said.

Silvertooth was charged with assault with intent to murder, assault with intent to commit great bodily harm less than murder, 2 counts of assault with a dangerous weapon and assault.

Huron Valley Ambulance paramedics treated the victim at the scene once the area was secure.

The victim’s current medical condition were unclear as of Tuesday afternoon.

Is this person from the same species as most of us are? Humans have the ability to think reasonably. It seems as if this individual can't

Boy this is scary I live down the street from this "local apartment" complex. What? No address? Come on you have to do better on these articles, maybe providing an address or the name of the complex. Or why even write this article, oh maybe it is an attempt to put put Ypsilanti in the crime headline. Trust me me I understand Ypsi has crime and will continue to have crime but in these articles just give us all the information.

The location has been added. That information was not available previously.

I always thought neighbors were to watch out for each other, not stab them. Good Job WCSD!
