By Cole Bertsos

Two duffle bags full of clothes, a Northface fleece jacket and a wallet were taken out of a car parked on the 900 block of Railroad Street in Ypsilanti Friday night.

The victim said the vehicle was entered through an unlocked door, according to the Ypsilanti Police Department.

Police have no suspects at this time.

We need a blog that really reports AA news. Rather than minor items from Ypsi police blotter while ignoring the same items from the AA police blotter. Local, ongoing AA highlights: -don't take a taxi or limo if you are female, you will get assaulted -don't walk in AA if you are female, they never caught the rapist(s) -don't park in an AA parking structure if you have any items visible in your car (Ann Arbor's own signage says this) If you think a town of 15k has more minor crimes hitting its blotter than a town of 100k, 40k of that population being drunken, wealthy college students-- its time for a course in critical data analysis. Let us report upon the real data for once, Ann Arbor reporters already killed the paper news by not following this strategy. I for one would like to see local reporters succeed, and a return of the paper news.

So why don't you start your own AA-only news source? It can be really exclusive for your refined sense of community news.

When in Ypsilanti, leave your wallet in the car to protect it against muggers. Leave the car unlocked lest thieves think something valuable is inside. Leave keys in the ignition lest car thieves break the column to start your car. Leave your shirt and shoes in the . . .
