Copper wire, water heater reported stolen during burglary on North Hamilton Street in Ypsilanti

A roll of copper wire and a new water heater were stolen during a burglary reported Sunday at a home in the 300 block of North Hamilton Street, an Ypsilanti police crime summary said.

The items were taken during the night, and their value is estimated at $1,300, the summary said.

The break-in was reported at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at the home, which is not occupied, but under renovation. Police do not have any suspects.

The items taken, should have been some where inside the home. Apparently someone saw it in the day light, and thought it would be a good steal after dark.

I suppose the homeowners can be grateful that the thieves didn't also pull the wiring and fixtures out of the house.
