Crash shuts intersection in Ypsilanti Township

The intersection of Whittaker and Merritt roads in Ypsilanti Township was closed Saturday afternoon as the result of a traffic accident, the Washtenaw Sheriff’s Office said.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area. The road was shut down at 3:18 p.m. for the investigation of a two-car crash that was reported about 2:30 p.m., a dispatcher said.
