Deputies arrest man on suspicion of drunken driving after crash

By Cindy Heflin

Washtenaw County sheriff’s deputies arrested a 32-year-old man on suspicion of drunken driving after he crashed his car early Tuesday morning in Ypsilanti Township.

Deputies were called to investigate a single-vehicle crash about 2 a.m. at Rawsonville and Martz roads. The driver’s performance on field sobriety tests led officers to conclude he had been driving under the influence of alcohol, according to a sheriff’s media summary.

The police report will be forwarded to the Washtenaw County Prosecutor’s Office for review.

The driver’s place of residence was not immediately available.

Drunk driving = domestic terrorism and should be treated accordingly imo.

I take it that the accident occured on the west lane of Rawsonville Rd. (Washtenaw Co.) The east lane is Wayne County. When I have called 911 to report an accident on Rawsonville at Martz or Bemis, the 911 operator always asks, (then she or he always call the proper county) I have seen both County's arrive (in an injury accident) when the caller does not realize this line in the middle of Rawsonville is not just a white line. (it is the County line). I have this knowledge, due to the fact that I have lived at the corner, and each side of the county line. No comment on the arrest of the driver, but glad only one car was involved.
