Deputies investigate break-ins at homes in Salem and Ypsilanti townships
Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office deputies are investigating home invasions in Salem Township and Ypsilanti Township reported during the weekend, with expensive items reported stolen from both.
According to deputies, the first break-in was reported Saturday in the 6000 block of Spring Meadow Lane in Salem Township. Deputies reported the home invasion occurred sometime during the daytime hours.
A basement window was broken and the intruder — or intruders — ransacked the home, stealing an iPad, laptop computer and a box containing necklaces, earrings and rings.
On Sunday, deputies began investigating a break-in in the 1800 block of South Grove Road in Ypsilanti Township. Investigators stated the home invasion took place between Saturday and Sunday.
A rear window was broken and a flat-screen TV, a video game system and a laptop were reported stolen.
