Deputies investigate home invasion and attempted home invasion in Ypsilanti Township
Washtenaw County sheriff's deputies are investigating a home invasion and attempted home invasion reported recently in Ypsilanti Township.
About 6 a.m. Wednesday, deputies responded to a reported burglary in the 2900 block of Southlawn Street.
A resident of the home woke up to find that a screen to a window had been cut and their car keys were missing, a sheriff's department media summary said. A 2010 Dodge Journey was stolen, along with a television and DVD player, the summary said.
Six hours earlier, deputies responded to a home in the 1700 block of Emerson Avenue where a screen to a ground floor bedroom window had been cut, the summary said.
Deputies said someone who attempted to enter the home was scared away by people inside.
