Eastern Michigan University dedicates aviation center at Lansing airport

By Cindy Heflin

Eastern Michigan University dedicated its new Eagle Flight Center at the Capital Region International Airport in Lansing Friday, about two weeks after classes began at the facility, the Lansing State Journal reported.

The program prepares students for careers in the aviation industry and is modeled after Eastern's established Ypsilanti program, which has been operating out of Willow Run Airport for five years, EMU said in a press release.

The EMU flight-training program replaces the Lansing Community College program that was discontinued earlier this year due to budget constraints, the article said.
