This weekend’s 13th annual Holiday Home Tour benefits Ypsilanti Meals of Wheels. If there was ever a time to support the non-profit that serves a noonday hot meals to the medically fragile and homebound elderly, it is now, said Ann Harris, executive director. “We’re in crisis.”

Donations are down while demand has skyrocketed, with 60 people on the waiting list. Already, the agency has cut its two meals a day down to one.

The tour runs from 6-10 p.m. on Saturday and from noon-4:30 p.m. on Sunday. The tours includes stops at five houses, along with the historic Hutchinson Mansion, all decorated for the holidays.

The Saturday candlelight tour includes food at each stop along with appetizers and desserts from 15 local food businesses at the Hutchinson Mansion.

Cost for Saturday night’s tour is $40, while Sunday’s tour is $15.

Saturday tickets must be purchased in advanced. Call Meals on Wheels at (734) 487-9669 for more information and to find out where tickets can be purchased.
