Intruders smash window of Ypsilanti business and attempt residential break-in

By Kody Klein

Ypsilanti police are investigating break-ins at two businesses this week, as well as an attempted break-in at a residence.

An intruder threw a brick through the rear window of an office in the 100 block of North Huron Street, sometime between Sunday night and Monday night.

Once inside, the intruder ransacked the office, but Sgt. Brent Yuchasz of the Ypsilanti Police Department said nothing appeared to have been taken.

Police also reported that a residential break-in was attempted Tuesday in the 1400 block of Gregory Street. The victim found that his front door had been damaged, as though some one had tried to kick it open, when he returned home around 8:30 p.m.

A break-in previously was reported at the Wolverine Grill, 228 West Michigan Ave., early Tuesday morning. An intruder smashed two glass doors and stole a laptop and a printer.

There were no suspects for any of the incidents as of Wednesday morning. It's not clear whether the incidents are related.
