Thief steals jewelry, ransacks home in daylight break-in

A thief or thieves stole jewelry from an Ypsilanti Township home sometime Tuesday morning after breaking into the home through the front door, Washtenaw County sheriff's deputies said.

Deputies went to the 7000 block of Oakridge to investigate the home invasion, which occurred sometime between 8 a.m. and noon Tuesday.

The home was ransacked and jewelry was reported missing, investigators said. No dollar estimate of the value of the jewelry was provided.

No suspect information was released Wednesday, and deputies continue to investigate. Anyone with information on this incident is encouraged to call the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office anonymous tip line at 734-973-7711 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK UP (773-2587).

Broad daylight. Hopefully he gets caught in the daylight so whomever catches him can see who he is shooting.
