Man convicted in December drive-by shooting
Lamarr Murphy-Ellerson was convicted Wednesday on nine criminal counts related to a drive-by shooting in Ypsilanti Township in December, according to a Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office official.

Sheriff’s Office spokesman Derrick Jackson said Murphy-Ellerson was convicted on two counts of assault with intent to murder, two counts of assault with intent to do bodily harm less than murder, possession of a loaded firearm, discharging a firearm from a vehicle, felony possession of a firearm, discharging a firearm at a building and carrying a concealed weapon.
The charges stemmed from a shooting at 3 a.m. Dec. 1 in the 1500 block of Harry Street. Deputies reported a man standing outside the home was shot during a drive-by. The 28-year-old suffered one wound to the leg and was treated at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital.
Murphy-Ellerson is expected to receive a sentence of more than 10 years in prison, Jackson said.
