Man dies after being pulled from pool in Ypsilanti

By Lee Higgins

An autopsy is scheduled for today on a 43-year-old man who died Thursday morning after being pulled from a pool in the 500 block of North Huron Street, Ypsilanti police said.

It appears the man drowned, and there are no signs of foul play, Sgt. Kevin Dorsey said.

The man's name has not been released, and police said they do not know where the man lives or why he was on the property.

Officers found the man in the pool after responding to a 6:55 a.m. report that a man was "being loud" in the neighborhood.

Police performed CPR before the man was taken by ambulance to St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Superior Township, where he was pronounced dead, Dorsey said.

Dorsey said the pool was gated.

@John Hritz, I had the same thought. I think Art ghost wrote the headline. If they had left him in the pool would he still be alive?

Interesting. I wonder if there was a cover on the poll, making it harder for the man to get out of it.

is the man that drowned the "... man was "being loud" in the neighborhood." or are they unrelated? i'm not speculating, but it was pointed out that this was the reason ypd was called to the neighborhood. a time of death could then be established.

The sentence, "Man dies after being pulled from pool", sounds causal. He didn't die as a consequence of being taken from the pool, he drowned and did not respond to CPR.

Is the pool in someone's yard? A little sketchy here.
