Man found sleeping in vacant apartment in Ypsilanti is arrested
By Lee Higgins
A 55-year-old man was arrested Thursday morning after Ypsilanti police said he illegally entered a vacant apartment in the 500 block of Pearl Street.
Officers found him sleeping in the apartment about 2:30 a.m. and took him into custody, a crime summary said.
He was later released. Charges are pending.

At least he got to come in out of the storm, wind and hail. Arrested (then later released).

Yeah, lots of empty spaces and homelessness. If you don't have the money honey then you can't get there for free, in the jungle, welcome to the jungle it gets worse here every day. Yep, lots of room for a useless game of golf, but a man can't squat in an unused apartment or dwelling. I had a house that was vacant, and there were squatters going there at night. I really didn't mind but if they had injured themselves then I would have been liable. What a word "liable", but it's there and with this word it's harmful to me if I was to help someone who is suffering from misplacement. The jail could have at least gave him shelter for a day for he could get some sleep.

A four sentence story. Way to get that writing career off the ground.

Could the article be a little more vague please? Was the man a homeless guy or a drunk guy who happened into the wrong apartment. At 2:30 AM, I could guess either. Or does the author wish me to assume it was a homeless person? How did they gain entry into the apartment? Was the door forced or left unlocked? Should I assume forced because the police were called? What charges are pending? Ugh! If the story was worth writing and posting, could you guys at least put some effort into it?

Someone is ordered to the ground at gun point and arrested in my neighborhood and not a word about what happened! BUT let someone fall asleep in a vacant home be arrested and released and THIS is news????

If there was a man sleeping in it, then the apartment was not vacant. Unrented, perhaps, but not vacant.

One of the Noble Homeless people arrested for being himself. We need a Rally at PJ's to make the community aware of his problem. Of course, we don't want to help him because that would end the problem, we just want to use him as a face to the Homeless Problem!
