Man stabbed during fight today in Ypsilanti Township, deputies say
A 35-year-old Ypsilanti Township man is at the Washtenaw County Jail, suspected of cutting his neighbor in the neck during a fight this morning in the 3000 block of East Michigan Avenue, county sheriff's deputies said.
The 21-year-old victim was taken by ambulance to St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in stable condition after the 12:15 a.m. incident, sheriff's department spokesman Derrick Jackson said.
Deputies responded to a reported fight in the neighborhood, but it had stopped by the time they arrived, Jackson said. Investigators found the injured man and were led to a home in the neighborhood, where they confronted a man with the knife, Jackson said.
After the man refused orders to drop the knife, deputies Tasered him outside his home and took him into custody, Jackson said. It was the same knife believed to be used in the stabbing, Jackson said. Deputies said it's unclear what prompted the fight or how many people were involved.
The man arrested is expected to be arraigned this afternoon.

Great Job Ypsilanti Police! No doubt in my mind that some will say it wasn't necessary to taser the man. When an officer says drop, drop it! Glad the alleged suspect didn't have a gun, he probably would have been shot, and rightfully so! I would like to thank all officers that put their lives on the line everyday!

I don't know about your steak and toast, but maybe you could shoot your boxes open with your pistol.

It's not the guns and it's not the knives. It is the people that abuse them.

Seriously? How do you plan on getting around the kitchen? Knives and guns don't kill people, people do.
