Police: Thief broke into woman's home as she worked in yard
Sheriff's deputies investigated two home invasions in Ypsilanti Township Wednesday, including one that occurred while the victim was outside doing yard work, police said.
Deputies were called to the woman's residence in the 100 block of Carriage Way for a break-in believed to have occurred between 2 and 6 p.m., according to a release from the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office.
"The homeowner was outside doing yard work and had left house doors open," the release stated. "The suspect (or suspects) entered the home through one of the unlocked doors and stole a tablet reader, credit cards and money."
Deputies investigated a second home invasion in the 5000 block of Bosuns Way that is believed to have occurred sometime Wednesday. Someone kicked in the front door and stole a TV, laptop computer, iPad and other electronics.
No suspects have been identified in either incident.
