Police: Man arrested after assaulting woman, threatening pedestrian with knife

Ypsilanti police arrested a man late Sunday night after he assaulted a woman and then used a knife to threaten a pedestrian who attempted to intervene.

Police responded at 9:39 p.m. Sunday to the 400 block of North Hamilton Street to deal with the man. According to police, he had assaulted a woman and pushed her outside of the home.

A pedestrian, who was attempting to intervene in the altercation, then confronted the man, who threatened the pedestrian with a knife.

Police arrested the man and took him to the hospital for treatment, according to police.

The guy who was himself accused of assaulting the woman and threatening the Samaritan needed treatment? Treatment? What kind of treatment?

My hat off to you pedestrian who stepped up and good job YPD. So many crimes and so few Police Officers. Keep up the good work and be safe out there.
