Portion of Holmes Road to be closed for repaving in Ypsilanti Township

By Katrease Stafford

Traffic on a portion of Holmes Road in Ypsilanti Township will be restricted for nearly a week while the road is repaved, beginning Thursday.

The Washtenaw County Road Commission and Barrett Paving Materials, Inc. will repave the asphalt on Holmes Road from Prospect Road to Spencer Lane.

According to the road commission, the repaving will take six business days, weather permitting, and traffic will be restricted under flag control operations. Access for residents, deliveries, and businesses will be maintained, but delays are likely.

Drivers are being cautioned to maintain the safety of road crews, motorists and be mindful of construction equipment and personnel.

I believe it was just redone within the last 5 years. It does not seem to me to be in need of resurfacing.
