A Pocketful O' Tea officially opened Dec. 7 at 8 W. Michigan Ave., across from City Hall, the story said.

The shop is owned by Eastern Michigan University student Chris Biek, according to the Courier.

It carries self-serve and bulk tea and coffee, as well as handmade candles and jewelry, and all natural, alcohol-free lotion and soap. The shop is open Tuesday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. You can contact the shop at 734-497-2804.

As I am reading the other article, I am wondering if he has Japanese and Asian blended teas. This would go well with the Hidden Dragon across the street.

O now you tell me. I could have bought some instead of going to Tecumseh. British Pantry is my other tea shop fav. Wish the roads were clear. I'd be down there in a minute.

About a week ago i was passing the Tea shop and said to myself, "I wish it was open, its cold and a nice hot cup of tea would be great. When i saw the front door, there was a sign that said OPEN. I was very happy. I stopped and got a lovely cup of tea, from a man I think is probably the owner. The tea was quite tasty, but I have forgotten the name of it. Best of Luck to the Owner and I hope to return often.

I love the one in Tecumseh. The British Pantry. Glad I don't have to make a trip there now that this is open.

Best of luck with your new venture, Chris, and thank you for choosing to locate your business downtown. I'll be in to check out the goods, and I'm sure that the hundreds of residents who support local businesses like yours will be too!

Patty? Between you and me I think we will keep this place in biz for years to come. We do a lot of tea buying. Now, can someone make it stop snowing?

What a lovely concept! A tearoom, a place of camaraderie and enjoyment.

A tea shoppe in downtown Ypsilanti. There's going to be some diplomacy involved here with customers who think tea pots are bongs.

I believe you are thinking of Ann Arbor, where there actually is a downtown bong shop. We understand. Georgraphy's not your strong suit. (What, exactly, IS your strong suit?)
