Thieves steal electronics, other items in multiple burglaries in Ypsilanti Township

Thieves broke into several homes in Ypsilanti Township and swiped televisions, video game consoles and other items in burglaries reported over the past couple of days, Washtenaw County sheriff’s deputies said.

The burglaries included:

500 block of Villa Drive: The resident reported Tuesday that someone kicked in the rear door to an apartment and stole multiple items, including an RCA 26-inch flat screen television, an unknown amount of cash, a laptop and six pairs of Nike Air Jordan shoes. Deputies believe the break-in occurred in the early morning hours.

1800 block of Crittendon Street: A resident reported Tuesday that a mini-bike was stolen from the garage but didn't know when.

2000 block of Crittendon Street: A thief or thieves broke in through the side door of a home and stole a Nintendo Wii game system, a Nintendo DS game system and a flat screen TV, deputies said. Deputies believe the theft occurred in the early morning hours of Tuesday.

1000 block of South Congress Street: Multiple items were stolen from an apartment, though police did not have a list. The burglary was reported Wednesday, but its time has not been determined.

2000 block of Shelly Avenue: Deputies said a resident reported a daytime burglary on Wednesday after being gone for a few hours. The thief or thieves took a Toshiba 27-inch flat screen television, an Acer laptop computer, a digital camera and an Xbox game system.
