Two injured in early morning shooting in Ypsilanti Township

By Cindy Heflin

Two people were shot early this morning in Ypsilanti Township, but details are scant at this time.

Two men entered an apartment in the 1100 block of S. Harris Road uninvited, and an argument began, Washtenaw County sheriff’s deputies said in a news release.

Two residents were shot during the argument, Sgt. Thomas Pennington said, but he did not have information about whether they are men or women or how badly they were injured. They were taken to the hospital for treatment, the news release said. The shooting was reported to police at 2:50 a.m..

Deputies are looking for two suspects. One is a black man and was wearing a red jacket. The other suspect is a black man and was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt. More detailed descriptions were not available.

Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff's department tip line at (734) 973-7711

You would "Fire the Sgt. if he worked for you"? To satisfy morbid curiosity please turn on Law & Order for faster results. If you need reporting, don't rely on someone making a phone call to the "Station house" desk Sgt, before the reports have even been completed. Gumshoe reporting only happens on the scene!

I dis-like those that damn our officers. (damned if they do, damed if they don't) Allow them time to get into the investigation, and get it right before they report to the news. If more details or discriptions wern't available, they just wern't. If anyone knows more than the officers at this point....speak up! If not just wait!

How do you speak about something you know nothing about?

I doesn't sound like Sgt. Pennington is the investigating officer. He might just be acting in the capacity of a spokesperson for the department.
