Video game controllers, laptop stolen during break-in

By Kyle Feldscher

A Toshiba laptop and Xbox video game controllers were stolen from an Ypsilanti Township home Tuesday when an intruder entered through an unlocked window.

Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office deputies reported the owner of the home in the 1300 block of Candlewood Lane returned home at 5 p.m. Tuesday and saw two men running away from the home through backyards.

A rear window to the home was unlocked and the laptop and controllers were the only items reported stolen, deputies reported.

Deputies reported the suspects have been identified but not arrested as of Wednesday morning. The investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information on the incident is encouraged to call the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office anonymous tip line at 734-973-7711.

Glad to hear they have been identified, arrest should come soon. My windows and doors are locked 24/7 home or away. Not saying they can't be broken, just making it harder for the intruder. Dogs are home while away, plenty of guns handy when home.

@RJA - Hopefully your trained on how to use a weapon like that. I watched this even happen from my porch. These were children committing these crimes! Are you really sure your able to shoot a child? Not to mention, this is a small neighbor hood with home close together, hopefully your bullet doesn't hit anyone else. If your weapon is locked up- its useless. if it's not loaded with a round in the chamber - its useless, when it comes to protecting your home and family from a LIFE THREAT. These are just troubled teens with no guidance from their parents.
