Local residents turned out at Korey's Krispy Krunchy Chicken in Ypsilanti today for a free annual holiday meal.

From noon to 5 p.m., volunteers served chicken, turkey, ribs, mashed potatoes and desserts to anyone who stopped by.

Leonardo Christian of Ypsilanti organized the event and raised money to buy enough food to feed 1,500 people. He said he has been organizing free holiday meals for 30 years in Lansing and Ypsilanti.
