Ypsilanti District Library seeks Pepsi Refresh votes
The Ypsilanti District Library is asking area residents to vote for it to receive a $25,000 Pepsi Refresh Project grant for its YDL-Michigan Avenue Teen Zone.
Area residents can vote for the project once daily throughout the month of December.
- Vote for the YDL-Michigan Avenue Teen Zone here.
If the grant is secured, the funds would be used to create an improved and more defined space for teens in the downtown library.
For more than a year, the concept of a space for teens ages 13 to 17 at the library has been in development. The Teen Zone would be a "safe space" that would encourage literacy, knowledge sharing and community engagement, according to a library news release.
The community has already helped to raise $10,000 for the project, according to the release.
Send an email to TeenZone@ypsilibrary.org to sign up to receive daily e-mail reminders to vote.
Votes also may be cast via text message. To do so, text 104359 to 73774 (PEPSI).
