Ypsilanti Mayor Paul Schreiber wins second term; three unopposed City Council members voted in

By Tom Perkins

Ypsilanti Mayor Paul Schreiber secured re-election by defeating two write-in challengers, while three City Council candidates who ran unopposed in the general election were voted into office.

With five out of nine precincts reporting and absentee ballots counted, Schreiber has won 96.5 percent of the vote against Kevin Hill and Jeff Davis. Schreiber defeated Council Member Pete Murdock in August's Democratic primary.

Incumbent Council Member Brian Robb, Ward 3, and newcomer Ricky Jefferson, Ward 1, won their Democratic primary races and ran unopposed in the general election. Newcomer Daniel Vogt, Ward 2, ran unopposed the primary and general election. All three have taken nearly 100 percent of the vote.
