The police and army are one of the few public servants who should be able to retire in their fifties. The rest of the "public servants" need to work until they reach social security age.

I do agree that the Ypsilanti Police do as good a job as they can under the circumstances. Sometimes they seem understaffed and unable to keep up with some of the crime in the community. The city really should find a way to expand their police force.

Or, as the AAPD calls it, "Saturday night".

tsk tsk, Saturday is too far away for the instant gratification generation. I have it on good authority that Thursday is the new Saturday.

Keep up the great work YPD. Without you this city would crumble. Wish I could offer you all a raise for all your hard work.

Thank you Ypsilanti police officers for continuing to risk your own lives to protect us citizens. I hope that the city manager and city council come to their senses soon and put public safety ahead of everything else! The safety of the public, not to mention the safety of each and every police officer, should trump all the other noise and nonsense (e.g., rec centers, Family Dollar, land use plans, assistants and consultants for the city manager, etc.). You have our deepest and sincerest gratitude.
