Ypsilanti police investigate fatal shooting

By Lee Higgins

A man was found dead this morning at an Ypsilanti home after being shot multiple times, Ypsilanti police said.

Police said in a news release they have a person of interest in the case, but were not more specific.

The 20-year-old Ypsilanti Township man was found at a home in the 300 block of South Prospect Street, where officers went at 9:30 a.m. to conduct a death investigation. He is believed to have been shot multiple times with a handgun, the release said. Authorities have not released the victim's name. Investigators could not be reached for comment tonight.

An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday morning, according to the Washtenaw County Medical Examiner's Office.

Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) SPEAKUP.

That is way too close to home for me! I hope they find the suspect and that they are brought to justice if found guilty. Prayers to the family. What a loss.

Life cut short, only 20 years old. Glad to hear the Police have a person of interest. (way to many guns in the hands of of some for the purpose of killing). Sad!

It's early with few facts but it seems like there would have been witnesses to multiple shots being fired.
