Couch surfing may prove to be costly for an Ypsilanti woman who is making an appearance Tuesday on the Judge Joe Brown television show.

Couch surfing is when an individual stays at a friend's or acquaintance's house in lieu of permanent housing.

According to the summary on Brown’s website, the appearance is a result of the woman “couch surfing” at the plaintiff's residence.

The plaintiff is seeking reimbursement for rent and a damaged couch.

The Ypsilanti woman - who isn't named (so far) - says free driving lessons and car more than paid for what was owed in rent.

Judge Joe Brown airs on CW50 at 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.
