By Laura Bien

Within the storage area of the Ypsilanti Archives lie many forgotten treasures. One of these, in one museum storage box, is a 19th-century scrapbook once belonging to Bertha Scadin. The Scadins were a farm family that lived in Webster Township. Today's "Tidbits" offers a gallery of snippets from Bertha Scadin's beautiful scrapbook, which contains picture cards, clippings, and advertising cards that offer a glimpse into the aesthetics of her day.

Bertha's name, in the first image, was drawn by hand...in ink. I just adore these old images.
