Back to school and end of summer clearance time at Briarwood Mall

By Angela Smith

Today may be too nice to spend inside, but with heat and showers - and plenty o’ sales - forecast for this week, you may want to hit the mall and check out some of the following deals:

A huge markdown on clearance summer items just took place at the Gap this morning, look for a nice selection of rock bottom prices for his, hers, and kid’s essentials. At babyGap and GapKids, a second pair of jeans is only $10 from their back-to-school line. This could not come at a better time, as many families are gearing up for fall.

If kids' clothes are what you need, Children’s Place is in full swing with its monster sale. The store just increased its discount from 4 percent to 50 percent off the lowest price. Prices start at from $2 to $4 in different departments, and the company recently mailed out coupons for an additional 15 pecent off if you are on its mailing list. Its clothing is always well coordinated and looks great for playtime.

Borders Rewards members can take an additional 20 jpercent off list price of any one item with an e-mail coupon. While there, check out the huge selection of children’s toys that Borders has added to their collection recently. Lots of great ways to sneak a little learning into family fun time.

Now through Aug. 9th, shop at Ann Taylor, and get the employee discount. Mention the Friends and Family Sale when you check out, and you can get an additional 30 percent off your entire purchase. Look for collections of fall lines like animal prints, sophisticated sweaters and ”perfect pieces.” This new line is full of basics you will want to keep forever because they are so versatile and flattering; plus they generally go well with items you already own.

Briarwood Mall’s Web site also mentions seasonal sales at more than 10 other stores like Coldwater Creek, Things Remembered and Express. Follow this link to see more.

Briarwood Mall is located at State Street and I-94. The mall is three miles south of downtown Ann Arbor, 100 Briarwood Circle, Ann Arbor, MI 48108
