Every week, I'll answer your questions about nutrition, weight loss
Do you have a question about nutrition that you have always wondered about? Of course, you can also go online and look for the answer, and the cool thing about nutrition is that you can keep looking until you find the answer that you want. There are a lot of Web sites out there that can give false information or misleading information especially if they are trying to sell something. I invite you to join me every Tuesday where I will answer questions from you.
Q: If I am trying to lose weight what is the one thing I should eliminate from my diet?
A: While I don't think that weight loss should be approached with a 'one size fits all' but rather individually, if I were to choose one thing I would say soda.
Soda provides very little nutrition with a lot of excess calories. A 12-ounce can has about 150 calories and let's be honest who drinks a 12-ounce can of soda anymore? Just by eliminating one 12 ounce can of soda you would be eliminating 1,050 calories a week! One pound has 3,500 calories so in just over 3 weeks you could be a pound lighter.

Thanks for the info Melissa. I know that when I first started working a job that required me to sit at a desk all day...the weight came on quickly...I dropped my soda intake and it made a big difference!
