The Huron River Watershed Council is hosting a Millers Creek area free walking tour of three local rain gardens at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Interested participants should meet at Thurston Elementary School, 2300 Prairie Street, in Northeast Ann Arbor, off Plymouth Road between Nixon and Green.

Experts from HRWC, JFNew and InSite Design Studio with the Washtenaw County Water Resources Commissioner’s rain garden program will be on hand to talk about and answer questions on the Millers Creek Rainwater Project, the project gardens, and rain gardens in general.

Attendees will take a look at the rain garden at Thurston Elementary School, a larger community garden at the intersection of Prairie and Briarcliff, and a private backyard rain garden.

Go to Rain Garden Walk for more details including links to the project website and a pdf brochure. Or contact Pam at plabadie@hrwc.org or 734-769-5123 x 602.
