Do you allow your dog on the furniture?

By Lorrie Shaw

Just like anything else, there are a lot of opinions on this subject - and I'm interested in knowing what yours is!

I can't answer your question with the responses I have to choose from. yes, my dog is allowed on the furniture and on the bed with me. I don't see it as a mistake. My dog is trained, I can say off and he gets off without a fuss and will plop down on the floor. In turn if I walk away he just doesn't hop back up, he will con't sleeping on the floor. I can also order him off them bed and onto a dog bed. I know some people are totally against it and others for it. Really it is a personal choice. As long as the dog is not posessive of the furniture and the owner remains the Alpha. My dog woke me up when there was smoke pouring out of my dishwasher, had he not been on the bed the outcome might have been different. Additionally as a female living alone I like the safety of having him with me. Also, at times when I have been sick it is nice to have a space heater right next to me.
