Don't forget Pet Photo Friday - it's fun, but photographs could help if your pet is lost or missing
Lorrie Shaw / Contributor
It's fun to snap photographs of pets having fun, but in all seriousness, having photos of our pets serves another purpose that we can't stress enough: If your pets end up missing, having recent photographs — along with microchipping — can be an important tool in getting them home safely.
To encourage the good practice of having up-to-date photographs on hand for your own records (digital cameras are very helpful with that), we invite you to email one of those photos of your pet —regardless of the species — to ppsa2mi@gmail.com, any time during the week, to participate in our Friday Pet Photos slideshow.
Photos should be in .jpg format, and at least 600 pixels wide.

My indoor cats are all microchipped and wear collars with our phone number on them. One never knows what might happen, and I would like to do all that I can to help my kitties to be able to get back to me safely.
