The Washtenaw County chapter of the American Red Cross is offering a class tonight to help you learn what to do if your pet is in an emergency situation.

Set for 6-9 p.m.at the Red Cross offices, located at 4624 Packard Road, this course teaches pet owners how to protect their pets during emergencies from further harm, injury or suffering.

Participants will learn basic first aid techniques for cats and dogs due to common illness, injury or life-threatening conditions. A current Adult CPR and First Aid certification is strongly encouraged, but not required.

Each participant will receive one Reference Guide, either Dog First Aid or Cat First Aid, with the opportunity to purchase a second Reference Guide at a reduced price.
