Meet a joyful dog whose tail never stops wagging - Tyler, the pet of the week

By Deb Kern

Tyler is a handsome 3-year-old beagle waiting for his forever home.

If your family has been hoping to adopt a funny and playful dog, you must come to the Humane Society of Huron Valley and meet Stephen Tyler (or Tyler for short). Tyler is a 3-year-old beagle mix who has the most amazing and highly skilled vocalization we’ve heard from a beagle in quite a while.

Just like the rock-n-roll legend, he is named after, Tyler has a set of pipes he uses to alert you of his needs. We find it adorable, but of course if your neighbors lived close, they might not. For this reason, Tyler will need a house and not an attached condo or apartment.

Tyler likes to run and play and does his best to obey commands, but he could really benefit from a little more training. He gets along well with other dogs and with the proper introduction could be a nice companion for another canine.

Tyler’s tail hardly ever stops wagging, and he literally bounds around with joy when he gets to spend time walking outside. All he needs is a caring and patient family to share his love of life with. Come and spend some time with Tyler and maybe you will fall in love with him like we have.

HSHV is open daily at 11 a.m. for adoptions. All pets available for adoption are spayed/neutered, up to date on their vaccinations, medically and behaviorally evaluated, and they have a microchip ID all included in their low adoption fee. Please make adoption your first option.

The Humane Society of Huron Valley, located in Ann Arbor, was awarded the “Best Large Animal Shelter in Michigan" by the Michigan Pet Fund Alliance, for the second time in a row this year, for saving the most lives. HSHV is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and relies solely on donations from businesses and individuals to support our community programs.

HSHV is not affiliated with the Michigan Humane Society or any other humane organization. The mission of HSHV is to promote responsible and compassionate care of all animals in our community. Please like us on Facebook!

I'm already in love and I've only seen his picture!! (too bad I'm allergic to dogs, life has its share of cruel ironies.)
