Meet the AnnArbor.com Pet of the Week: Whirligig
Deb Kern | Contributor
Whirligig is a quiet gentleman. Although he was somewhat shy when he came to the shelter as a stray, his confidence has been growing in leaps and bounds. You may find him lounging about in the cat beds or hidey-holes in the Humane Society of Huron Valley community cat room, but, with encouragement, he will come out and readily purr for those that give him a full pet down.
Whirligig is about 7 years old and is a friendly fellow to people and felines alike. He likes his head and chin scratched and would enjoy a home that is more quiet like he is. This sweet cat has been at the shelter since December 2010. We just can’t imagine why he is still here, but maybe because he is not a pushy, in-your-face type of cat, he is getting passed by. This is a shame because we can tell you that Whirligig is a love, and he will love you forever if you adopt him.
The truth is that older cats make great pets. They’ve settled down and enjoy the finer things in life like, naps, lap-time, treats and more naps. Whirligig is no exception to this.
HSHSHV is open daily from noon to 6 p.m. for adoptions.
