Meet Unka - Ann Arbor.com's Pet-of-the-Week
Unka

Unka is a nice cat, and she would like you to know that she is a princess in her own mind and prefers to be treated as such. She does not like to share her people with other commoner pets, so she will need to go to a home with no other animals please.
Unka was previously owned by a woman who left the country and could not take Unka with her. This sweet cat has been at HSHV since August. This is not her fault! She does not like being at a shelter, and people who visit her sometimes think she's grumpy. I say, "Wouldn't you be a little grumpy too?" The only family you've known is gone, and your whole world is changed. If that's not a reason to be a little off your game, I don't know what is.
Unka has been in a couple of our wonderful foster homes so she could get a break from the cage, but she is back now, and we really hope she finds her a new family soon! Come and visit her in Uptown Cats at HSHV.
Unka needs a person that understands "cat language". If you need to ask what "cat language" is, then Unka is not the cat for you. She's a special girl and will make someone a wonderful companion. Unka does like to be petted but she is shy at first. She needs to trust you before she can be picked up. Please give Unka a home and time to adjust to her new surroundings. She deserves a break. This senior cat is asking for your help. HSHV is open for adoptions from noon to 6 pm daily. Unka is a senior cat so her adoption fee is only $25. ALSO, every Friday at HSHV is "Free Feline Fridays", which means any cat over 5 months old is eligible for a free adoption.
