Meet a gorgeous and gentle lady named Sheed, the Ann Arbor.com Pet-of-the-Week

Sheed, an 8-year-old long-haired cat waiting for a home at HSHV.

This beautiful, long-haired tiger mix cat is Sheed. She has been at the Humane Society of Huron Valley since early February when her family of seven years could no longer care for her. It seems someone in the home developed allergies.

This gentle and quiet 8-year-old cat took time to adjust to the busy operations at the shelter. At first she mostly tried to hide and stayed safely in her bed or on her perch, but in the last few weeks we have noticed she’s seeking out attention. In fact, now when our wonderful cat comforter volunteers visit, she will roll on her back and purr to get more cheek scratches.

Sheed is looking forward to getting back into a home of her own because she is much more comfortable in that environment. Once you get to know her, you will find a mellow kitty that may even find her way into your lap.

She did live with another cat but may be happier as your only pet. She likes the companion of adults. Loud noises and rambunctious kids do scare her. If you have room in your heart and home for a gorgeous, gentle cat, we hope you will come to HSHV and fall in love with Sheed.

HSHV is open daily at 11 a.m. for adoptions. All pets available for adoption are spayed/neutered, up to date on their vaccinations, medically and behaviorally evaluated, and they have a microchip ID all included in their low adoption fee. Please make adoption your first option.

The Humane Society of Huron Valley, located in Ann Arbor, was awarded the “Best Large Animal Shelter in Michigan" by the Michigan Pet Fund Alliance, for the second time in a row this year, for saving the most lives. HSHV is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and relies solely on donations from businesses and individuals to support our community programs.

HSHV is not affiliated with the Michigan Humane Society or any other humane organization. The mission of HSHV is to promote responsible and compassionate care of all animals in our community. Please LIKE US on Facebook!
