Meet two adorable long-coat Chihuahuas - they're the Pets of the Week

By Deb Kern

Blackie and Cookie, a "Perfect Pair" of Chihuahuas available for adoption at HSHV

There are times that two animals come into the Humane Society of Huron Valley very bonded to one another. That is the case with Blackie (male, 7 years old), and Cookie (female, 6 years old). These two long-coat Chihuahuas, have been with each other their whole lives. Splitting them apart now would be devastating for these companions who are already confused by the loss of their home.

Blackie and Cookie’s owner had to move to a place that does not allow pets. Now this “Perfect Pair,” as we call them, is looking for a caring family that can provide for them both.

They do not need much; in fact these shy but sweet dogs are crate-trained and house-trained. Once they get to know people they are affectionate and are happy to jump up and sit in a warm lap.

Because they were frightened by the activity at the HSHV shelter, they are comfortably enjoying the quiet time they are spending with an HSHV foster family. They have settled in and can often be found snuggling together on the couch. They are adorable together.

We think this couple would do best in a child-free home or in a home with older kids that understand small dogs. Blackie and Cookie are available for adoption now. It’s very easy to meet this duo, all you need to do is email or call 734-662-5585 and talk to the adoptions staff. We can arrange for you to meet Blackie and Cookie.

HSHV is open daily at 11 a.m. for adoptions. To visit with Blackie and Cookie please call to schedule your visit: 734-662-5585.

All pets available for adoption are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on their vaccinations, medically and behaviorally evaluated, and they have a microchip ID all included in their low adoption fee. Please make adoption your first option.
