"Moose is named so because his previous owner was involved with the Moose Lodge for 55 years, reaching highest levels of honor within that organization. He passed away a couple years ago and Moose has been my dog since. He just turned 10 years old. We think he is a Silkie as he is too large to be a Yorkshire. We really don't care what he is, he is one wonderful dog and he knows it. His name seems to give him great strength; he's very popular in the neighborhood with all dogs and all people." by Suzann Roberts /calendar/photologue/photos/cache/photo___fullsize.JPG

Mandi's human offered this story: "This is one of the last photos taken of my precious Mandi just 10 days before she passed over the rainbow bridge on Feb 22Nd, so suddenly, and tragically. Mandi would have been 22 years old on May 1st. We had recently re-located from the Ann Arbor area to Port Charlotte FL, she LOVED her few short weeks in FL, as this picture certainly attests to! RIP my dear Mandi. I miss you so much:( sad Regards, Your grieving Mom" by Suzy Upton /calendar/photologue/photos/cache/Mandi21_fullsize.JPG
We invite our readers to interact here on the pets section any chance we get, and one thing is evident: People are passionate about their companion animals, no matter what breed they are. And as we see at the end of each week, they like to show off their cute pet photos!
It's always fun to see what our readers lives are like with their own pets and other animals, and there are always interesting stories to tell.
This week, you'll see a dog who loves the water and another who knows he fits right in; additionally, one readers shares her memories of her beloved cat who recently crossed the Rainbow Bridge.
Participating in our weekly photo blog is easy — simply email a photo of your pet to ppsa2mi@gmail.com any time for our weekly Pet Photo Friday feature.
Next week's theme: pets who came into your life at an unexpected time but changed you forever.
We've all heard stories of the cat who shows up in someone's yard out of the blue and ends up being a family fixture, or the dog who needed to be rehomed quickly and ended up being a perfect fit for an unsuspecting family.
Life is funny that way, and it's those surprises who in most cases end up being the most poignant and amazing of stories.
Have you had that experience? Why not share it along with your photo.
Be sure to include the name of the animal(s), as well as their age and city or township of residence in your email. Photos should be 1200 pixels wide and in .jpg format.
We put the week's photos into a slideshow, publish and promote each Friday here in the Pets section.
