Around since 1976, Raja Rani is Ann Arbor's oldest Indian restaurant. It's been owned by the Singh family since 1999. It's housed in an old white clapboard house and each room offers its own private ambience. The restaurant features the cuisine of Northern India, curried items with sauces that can be scooped up into the various homemade breads. There are chicken, lamb and rice specialties as well as tandoori skewered dishes and seafood entrees. There are many traditional Indian dishes, like aloo gubi, pakora, samosos, lamb vindaloo and nan breads. Monday, there's a lunch buffet for $6.95; every other day it's $8.00.
